I went to Merlion for the first time in 10 years because I wanted to eat Singaporean chicken rice. I've known this place since the dirty Southeast Asian days, but it's changed dramatically since the renovation. For lunch, there is a value set for 800 yen, but I ordered the chicken rice, which is what I wanted. Hainan-style chicken rice (1,000 yen) I was surprised at how small the main chicken was, but although the black sauce makes it delicious, if the chicken isn't filling, it's no good. The rice soaked in chicken and chicken stock is the best, so I would like to see it improved, as it can be priced a little higher.
