Our experience here was okay but not great. The food was good over all, but customer service was lacking. Food took about 30 minutes to arrive and after all the food has made it to the table, they never came back to see if we needed anything else or refill our drinks. We had to flag them down to get more water etc. I know restaurants can be busy at times but in order to get great customer service you always have to check on customers to see if they need anything else.
3.5 STARS: Mesa has always been somewhat of a staple for us. Easily accessible when we used to live in Makati, and now growing in to many SM malls from what I've noticed. The service is average across the board. I'd say the location in Greenbelt seems to be the most attentive. What I really like about the Mesa chains is simply, whether you enjoy their food or not, it's very consistent, you know what to expect when you walk through the door. The service is that of most any restaurant locally... They don't check on you during the meal. So I'll say average for the PI. The baked scallops are pretty good, baked in a butter sauce, this isn't a sophisticated dish, but still a good starter. The baked muscles: another good starter, we always seem to order the scallops and muscles every time we've come to Mesa. Baby squid: this dish can be prepared 3 different ways at Mesa, I chose to have it sautéed in olive oil. Simply delicious. One of my go to dishes when on the menu and at Mesa is no exception. I loved this. Boneless tilapia with 4 sauces: aesthetically this is a really pretty dish. That's what prompted us to order this dish. Someone across the way ordered it and it looked so pretty being served across the way we decided to give it a go. The fish is deep fried and quite ordinary in taste, it's fried fish... So it tastes like... Fried fish... Like something you could whip up at home. The sauces were, off in my opinion. I didn't like 3 of the 4 sauces. I stuck to the soy sauce and I think vinegar with onions and chili. Overall the experience at Mesa is a decent one. Their 'boneless' crispy pata is also very good, yet there bones on the plate, hmmmmm. Stay hungry my friends!
