Very few places exist like this in the South End today. (I remember when you had your pick of smaller cafe bistro places like this, where you can have a conversation and be heard without yelling over top of the crowd) I went with 2 friends and we each had an app - I had the special tomato tart: the bottom was quite soggy for a puff pastry, otherwise it tasted good. I also had a pasta dish with sausage and fennel, quite good (no pic). Our server made excellent recommendations for wine. He even accommodated us with separate checks - Thanks!! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went here for Valentine’s Day and luckily enough came slightly before our reservation because another couple had reserved for 930 was told that they were actually a table short. After ordering a bottle of wine, I was surprised to find that the bottle did not match what was on the menu. I raised a concern to the staff, and they seemed dumbfounded and asked what I wanted them to do as if I was the issue here. The bottle they did bring was much cheaper yet cost us the same price. I found it rude and deceiving. Staff also managed to forget our food, very disappointed. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $60–70 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Metropolis is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston. Their food is amazing (Try the Rigatoni!), the salads are always refreshing and unique, and service by Mikey and team is always phenomenal. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
