I ordered the tamales and the mini chimichangas(to go). They were absolutely fantastic! Loved trying all the different kinds of chimichangas, the pork and beef were my favorite! The tamales come wrapped in corn husks which was cool and authentic. I liked that they put the sauce on the side so the tamales didn’t get too soggy underneath. I would definitely give this place another try!

If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars, I absolutely and unequivocally would. Thank goodness this dump is closing. Last night the owner's daughter, who was working as a server, threw black beans on my mother when my Mom asked about the missing rice with her meal and told her that there was a roach by the table. Really?!?! First someone doing that to my mother?? And as nasty as that food is/was?? The only thing that was half way decent were their drinks and even those were questionable. #goodriddance

I regret to inform you that after 29 years of serving delicious food and strong beverages, no cap, Mexican Cafe will be closing their doors permanently towards the end of September 2021. Many fantastic memories will be cemented in my brain. Make sure you stop by ASAP, tip well, drink up, and savor the memories. God bless.
