I am at a loss for words, in the best way possible. This has been one of THE best experiences I’ve had here in the East Bay. Not only is the food phenomenal!! But the customer experience… every other restaurant should study what they are doing. I have no notes. I cannot wait to come back and experience the chef’s tasting! We thoroughly enjoyed our special evening of wonderful and a live jazz show headlined by violinist Mads Tolling and guitarist Bruce Forman. The beautiful decor, the excellent service and the exceptional Turkish food were equal to the lovely jazz concert we enjoyed. The Gambiyla bean spread was an absolutely delicious appetizer and the two vegetarian entrees Mercimekli Karniyank and Sebzeli Alinazik (roasted eggplant and grilled seasonal vegetables) were extremely flavorful and we didn’t miss having meat or seafood. We really loved everything about the restaurant and will be sure to return in the future for another jazz event. Our only regret is that San Ramon is 46 miles from our home in Marin! We hope that Meyhouse will consider opening a restaurant in Marin one day. Everything about this place was 5 stars. The food, service, and ambiance were phenomenal. The show was lovely. I'm knocking it down a star because of the 4% "cost of living surcharge." I'm so sick of restaurants doing this, and this is the most brazen one yet. Increase the price of the food, don't surprise me with an extra fee on the bill. I would have given our server a larger tip if not for this, so it's counterproductive to the goal of putting more money in their pockets.
