First, I have to say that I love the place, the microbrewery is great and I am a regular consumer of their beers. It's very rare that I'll make negative comments but I've sent messages privately and never heard back. Recently we visited the pub and three of us had the fish & chips. And all three of us were equally disappointed.... the batter was almost burnt and had cooked in frying oil that should have been changed a long time ago. I know that the price of cooking oils has increased significantly, but it is not by excessively extending its lifespan that we are going to have satisfied customers. Old oils taste rancid and cook the outside of the food too quickly. Last fall I experienced the same thing with onion rings. As customers, I think we prefer to pay a little more but have the best quality possible. And please respond when customers take the trouble to contact you privately to tell you about a problem.
