Arrived about 2:30 for a late lunch, still busy. But, out of pot roast, out of meatloaf. What kind of planning do they do? If I had been alone, I would have walked out. It is irritating to pay 25 cents for the cup for water. On the plus side, the selection is immense and varied, although I do not know what else was not available today. Expensive, Basic Sandwiches—Plan and Simple. Midtown Deli left me underwhelmed. While I usually have plenty to say about a dining experience, this place didn’t give me much to work with. The sandwiches are as basic as they come, and for the price, they don’t deliver nearly enough in terms of portion size or flavor. Even small details, like charging for a water cup, felt like a letdown. The food lacked sauce, seasoning, or anything to make it stand out. There’s nothing unique or memorable about the menu, and the overall experience was just bland. We waited too long for a normal day and disappointing food. I’m not sure if I’ll be back, but maybe I’ll give it another shot someday. As it stands, Midtown Deli is hard to recommend.
