I have always loved Millbrae Pancake House when I was younger. I have grown up going here for over 30 years. I had heard that it changed and i have been reluctant to go. I finally went the other day and while it still had the same atmosphere it surely had changed. Every food portion is smaller and not cooked the same. The Swedish pancakes kind of light and almost not cooked, the hash browns oily and just all around different food. The staff is completely different and you don't get the same homey feel stopping in and eating there. I will say the parking lot has changed and while it can accommodate more cars there were no spots for me. They do have outdoor seating and maybe the weekend is better with the hustle and bustle, but you would have thought it would have had the same old charm in. Sad day, but still willing to try again.

Well times have changed and so has the quality at this once great breakfast location. We have been coming here a lot over the past few months. The food is not consistent. My order is usually one of the specials. My sunny side up egg has shown up over easy (I sent it back), that redone sunny side up was perfect, today's was runny and one of the yolks broken. Sausage and bacon has been perfect but on several other occasions burned. Coffee is always excellent if the waitstaff remembers to bring you some. Today he did not and questioned whether or not we were his table to us or if the other waiter was supposed to help us. He had just taken our order. He never brought us water. When our coffee finally arrived, we literally had to get our own refill. The raw materials are great (pancake batter, sausages, biscuits, eggs, coffee beans, etc), but the execution and service is hit or miss. Burned or raw with no beverages, other times made to perfection and served and attended to with verve. Overall the performance is inconsistent.
