Notwithstanding its relatively off-the-beaten-path location adjacent to U.S. Highway 1 in Camden, South Carolina, Ming's Buffet is actually one of the better small-scale Chinese buffets on the eastern seaboard. The buffet's main dishes are prepared with an emphasis on flavour and a modicum of salt. Particularly noteworthy among the buffet's offerings is the basic lomein, full of savour and properly textured, a telling indication of the cook's adeptness in the fundamentals of Chinese cuisine. While diners may choose from an extensive menu that also features economical lunch and dinner combinations, the highlight at Ming's is the compact and tidy buffet. It is important to note that sit-down diners must pay for their purchase prior to dining. Service is hospitable, friendly, and unobtrusive.
