Stopped in for the Seafood Boil, the best I've ever had!

UNEXPECTED SPOT The last time I ate at a restaurant in Half Moon Bay was in early January of last year. Who would've thought from then to now how dining would have been affected. Time is so sudden. Yesterday I was at Half Moon Bay. I walked around the trail at Surfers Beach. I didn't expect to come here but the trail lead me to this restaurant. Also I even didn't expect grab a bite here but at the last minute I decided to eat here for a late lunch/ early dinner. With the ocean setting I decided to sit outside and get a table with an ocean view. Since I was at Half Moon Bay I was craving for seafood. I decided to order three dishes: calamari, poke, and fish & chips. The breading on the calamari didn't have that crunch. In addition I felt the breading fell off the calamari too easily. I really like the poke dish at Miramar Beach Restaurant. The last time I ordered poke outside of Hawaii I didn't enjoy it. Eating the poke with the mango, avocado, chips added layers of flavor of texture. I have to admit after consuming the calamari and poke I was getting full. If you have to pick one of the appetizers I recommend the poke. The fish and chips at Miramar Beach Restaurant is the most puzzling fish and chips I ever had. The Alaskan cod was fresh as it wasn't flaky but melts in your mouth. However the breading was too oily. When it comes to fish and chips I complain sometimes there was only one piece of fish. Even though there were two pieces of fish, since the breading of the fish and chips was too oily I only could eat one piece of fish. The service at Miramar Beach Restaurant was great; I received the calamari and poke a little over 5 minutes after I placed my order. However when I rate places I eat never once did I base on the service. My rating is based on that I didn't like 2 of the 3 items I ordered. With that I couldn't rate this place at least a 3-star.
