Check out how Misoso looks inside
Misoso, nestled within Emporium on Abdul Haque Rd in Lahore, offers a taste of Japanese cuisine. Those familiar with its offerings often highlight the sushi as a notable choice, though experiences seem to vary. The ambiance tends toward the casual, which might cater well to those looking for a relaxed dining atmosphere to enjoy small plates of Japanese dishes.

Visitor responses paint a mixed picture of Misoso. While some have praised their teppanyaki and a variety of sushi offerings, others have been less impressed, particularly noting dissatisfaction with the buffet and perceived value. The drink selection has also received some negative feedback concerning sweetness levels. Despite this variance in customer experience, fans of Japanese cuisine may find something to enjoy here.

Although the restaurant isn't widely listed on popular directories, it carries a minimal presence on Google, indicating it's lesser-known in the general dining scene of Lahore. Recent insights and updates from the establishment are scarce, making it difficult to gauge current service and offerings. As of now, it stands as a casual spot for those looking to explore Japanese flavors in the city.

I recently dined at Misoso Japanese, tucked inside Nishat Hotel in Johar Town, and it turned out to be one of the most refined Japanese experiences I’ve had in Lahore. The restaurant has a calm, upscale vibe that fits perfectly with the hotel setting—clean lines, soft lighting, and attentive service without being overbearing. It feels like a quiet escape from the city noise. *Food & Highlights* I started at the *sushi bar*, which is absolutely the star here. The chefs were visibly skilled, preparing each roll with precision. The fish was incredibly fresh, the rice had the right texture—not too sticky, not too loose—and the balance of soy, wasabi, and pickled ginger was spot on. If you’re a sushi purist, you’ll appreciate that they don’t overcomplicate the flavors. It’s clean, authentic, and beautifully plated. Next came the *tempura prawns*. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with zero greasiness. The batter was light and airy, and the accompanying tentsuyu dipping sauce added just the right touch of umami. It’s the kind of dish that makes you order a second round without thinking twice. For mains, the portions were well-sized and the presentation was immaculate, but the real surprise was the *desserts*. Misoso’s sweet dishes are genuinely some of the best I’ve tried in the city. They managed to be delicate, not overly sweet, and had that subtle Japanese elegance—think refined textures and flavors rather than heavy, sugary indulgence. A perfect way to end the meal. *Drinks* On the drinks side, the *cucumber drink* was a standout. Light, refreshing, and not masked by artificial sweetness. It paired beautifully with the sushi and tempura, cleansing the palate between bites. If you prefer something cooling and subtle over heavy cocktails, this is the one to get. *Service & Ambiance* Service at Misoso is professional and well-trained, which makes sense given the hotel setting. The staff understood the menu, gave good recommendations, and timed the courses well. The ambiance is quieter and more intimate compared to standalone restaurants, which I loved for a relaxed dinner. *Pricing & Value* Being inside Nishat Hotel, the pricing leans premium. But considering the quality of ingredients, technique, and overall experience, it feels justified. This isn’t your casual, quick-bite Japanese spot—it’s a place for a proper sit-down meal where you can actually taste the craftsmanship. *Verdict* Misoso Japanese is worth visiting if you’re serious about sushi, tempura, and clean Japanese flavors. The sushi bar alone makes it worth the trip, and the tempura prawns + cucumber drink + desserts combo makes it a complete meal. If you want authentic Japanese cuisine in a polished, comfortable setting, this is one of the best options in Johar Town right now. *Highly recommended* for date nights, business dinners, or anytime you want Japanese food done right without compromise. I had angus stake, chicken ramen and sushi platter. Everything was sub par. The stake's fillet was cut improperly, did not get properly cutlery. Sushi platter was not fresh and gave me food poisoning. Chicken ramen had noodles that were like maggie. The waiter also spilled the soy sauce all over the table. I feel horrible that this was my special date with my wife and this is how it went. Horrible Price per person: Rs 10,000+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
