Six travellers (Canadian and Australian) doing a brief two night stop in Fukuyama, discovered a gem within a city of pretty solid food options. We spotted Mistletoe’s high rating on Google and booked a Friday night dinner (note: best to reserve in small town Japan). The meal was a wonderful mix of traditional with a fusion flair. As in all Japan eateries, if wine is available, it is typically limited to one or two whites or reds. But at least here they were proud to show the bottles of very good quality French and Italian wines (not high end, but solid options). The food was served up hot, nicely platted, and with the freshest of ingredients. We surmise that this small eatery is a classic husband and wife team. Both were friendly, efficient and seemingly honoured to have us as their guests. We loved our evening there. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
