RIP my favorite restaurant in Carmel, Indiana, from a guy who grew up a mile away, I blame the pandemic and (a lot of) people in Indiana hating fish.

We went to Mitchell's Fish Market and had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the ambiance was wonderful for a festive occasion. My wife got the Bourbon Glazed Salmon for $28. This is a holiday seasonal item. It came with roasted root vegetables and maple bacon butter. She said it was excellent. I got the Crab Cake and Shrimp combo for $25. It came with a roasted corn sauté and smashed redskin potatoes. It was wonderful as well. We both got a side house salad, which was very large for a side salad. It was made with quality fresh greens. Our server was pleasant and friendly. It took a bit longer than expected for our food to arrive. However, it was Christmas Eve and the place was reasonable full. Our server kept checking back and apologized a few times for the delay. We were not in a hurry and were enjoying the atmosphere and occasion. Given the date and circumstances, I am not counting this against them at all. We like to go out to eat at a "nice" restaurant on Christmas Eve (no dirty dishes or kitchen to clean! LOL). We have been to Mitchell's on two separate Christmas Eves and would return again! Mitchell's also has a wonderful Happy Hour menu in the bar area. And it is even available on Fridays! Obviously, we did not partake of this on Christmas Eve but I thought I would mention that fact as well. We enjoy having a drink in a bar booth, splitting a couple of the Happy Hour food items for dinner, and then continuing on our way. Another great, but completely different, experience.
