If you're looking for somewhere quaint, and English friendly, go here. The chef walked out from the kitchen to greet us personally when I let the server know my family is from France. They were extremely kind, talkative, and the service was fast and efficient. They were able to answer menu questions flawlessly- I didn't have to fumble through my poor Japanese! The space itself is small and quaint, with photos and decor from their travels through Europe and America. Lots to look at! The dishes are extremely cute- so much attention to detail! Lastly, the omurice and creme brulee is well worth it. 10/10, this was one of my favorite little morning spots in beppu Meal type: Brunch Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000

I ordered a medium rare fillet steak set. Though a bit pricey but it is well worth it. The beef is super tender and juicy. Makes me want to keep eating. The staff is also very friendly and can speak very good English. Highly recommended. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000

I give Mitsuboshi 5 stars all-around! This cafe was very cute and drew us in for an early lunch and caffeine refill. My partner and I both tried the omurice, which was one of their recommended dishes--and 10/10 would recommend! For English-speaking foreigners and tourists, this is a great spot to eat as they are readily able to accommodate should you need help. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000
