The Mjøsfronten makes Hamar an attractive summer town! In the middle of the center of Hamar you will find your own summer world. Here you can dip your feet in Mjøsa and enjoy the view towards Skreia, or watch the boating (from time to time Skibladner docks). Here you can order exotic food from the food carts that stand there all summer, or order a drink from the bar. Lots of good food and drink to choose from and a wonderful southern atmosphere, with sunbeds and parasols along the beach line. Possibility of several activities, both on land and in water. The area will be developed over time and will become even more attractive, but ever since the opening, the Mjøsfronten has been buzzing with life. Adds that you can visit interesting sights and museums in the city and its immediate surroundings. Domkirkeodden, with its medieval history and exciting architecture, has been mentioned several times among the world's most beautiful museums. Here you will also find the country's largest herb garden, an open-air museum with over 60 old houses from the Hedemarken - and a climbing park to frolic in. Other mentions include the Railway Museum, the Flagstad Museum, the Art Bank, the Emigrant Museum, Atlungstad with distillery history, a restaurant and summer theatre, the Klevfoss Industrial Museum - where there is also a exhibition about Edvard Munch. Hamar has nice beaches and many places to eat, great hiking opportunities at Furuberget and Gåsbu, on rainy days the Ankerskogen swimming pool, the Culture House with library and cinema can be an alternative. Stange vestbygd is a beautiful cultural landscape and has been called the Tuscany of the Nordics in newspaper reports. Jessnes beach is also worth a visit, Fiskarhytta has catering and organizes outdoor summer concerts. On Tjuvholmen and around the city there is lively theater and concert activity.
