Momos are always a go-to for me, but finding the right momo place in Toronto is so difficult. I’m so happy my husband found this spot and called ahead to check if they served halal meat, and luckily, they did! Since it was our first time visiting, we were confused about what to order and hadn’t really checked the reviews to see what was popular. The person at the counter (owner’s son - name was Dilshan, I guess?), told us that the Tandoori and Chilli Momos were their best sellers. They were a teeny tiny bit more expensive than the other options, and we thought it’s common for anyone to recommend the higher-ticket items, but we went for them anyway. We didn’t have any expectations, high or low, but when the momos came in, there were 10 big pieces. When I opened them up to let them cool down a little, I could actually see a good amount of chicken inside, unlike what is usually sold in the market, where it’s mostly wrapper with very little chicken. Naturally, they were quite filling because of the quantity. The owner’s son told us they get the chicken and mince it in the restaurant, and it genuinely felt like I was biting into proper chicken. They also mentioned they’re going to Costco very soon, which I’m very excited about! It’s owned by a family originally from Nepal, and yes, they are selling the real thing. Got fried beef momos and they were great. It took 15 mins for the order to come out. The default sauce was too hot for me so I asked for a mild one that was great. Good portion and beef tasted good. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

MomoBoyz is honestly one of the best momo spots I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of places. It’s a true hidden gem in Scarborough, and even after leaving the area, I still come back for their food. I had to come back and write this review after someone broke in and badly damaged the store. The mother-and-son duo here make incredible momos, and the keema noodles are also so good. Definitely worth the visit.
