Our stay in Kinosaki was probably the highlight of our trip to Japan. Morizuya Inn is very quaint. The rooms are in a traditional style with sleeping mats on the floor. The Inn has two "onsen" in it (although they are not hot spring water, and are fed with hot tap water). The onsen are picturesque, and during certain times of day you can have them to yourself with the door locked. We also did the kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Both were good, though we enjoyed the dinner better than the breakfast. Staying at the ryokan includes free rental of traditional robes to wear around town and to the hot springs, as well as a 24-hour pass to all onsen in town. This was the most expensive hotel of our trip by far, but is relatively cheap by the standards of Kinosaki ryokan. We felt that we got very good value for our money with the overall experience including the room, food, and onsen. Only negative to note: this building is not remotely accessible for someone in a wheelchair, on crutches, with bad balance, or otherwise. It is an old building with many stairs and sections of steeply sloped floor. Service: 5

I can’t say enough good things about Morizuya Ryokan. From start to finish, Hachi-san, along with his mother and the staff, make this an immersive traditional experience loved by foreigners and Japanese alike. We felt so special strolling the town and going to the onsen in our gorgeous yukata/kimono, straight from Hachi-san’s mother’s collection. You get to choose upon arrival, and they didn’t rush us at all, in fact helped us pair each garment. They even sent a very adorable lady to help dress us, since we didn’t know how to tie them properly. Also, Hachi-san will make sure you have plenty of photos to remember your visit by. Make sure to come starving to dinner and breakfast, there will be so much food and you won’t want to waste a bite from how delicious and fresh it is. They even accommodated for a vegan kaiseki, and it was absolutely delicious, such a memorable dinner. The room was huge and so clean and the on-site onsen were amazing. The matcha tea ceremony was fun and informative, of course the matcha was so fresh and delicious. But the real highlight of this place is Hachi-san, with his warm and friendly personality, he welcomes his guests in a way where you can tell he really loves what he does. I highly recommend staying for multiple nights, we really regretted only staying for one night. Kinosaki Onsen town is so beautiful. We will be happy to return to Morizuya in the future. Thank you so much for everything! Service: 5

Fantastic stay in the center of Kinosaki Onsen! It's very conveniently located between all of the onsens and only a short walk from the train station. The food served was incredible, rooms were very clean, and had a traditional Japanese feel. To top it all off, an Onsen pass was included. The owner is incredibly friendly and your enjoyment is their top priority. Highly recommend for an overnight stay in Kinosaki Onsen! Service: 5
