I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a Michelin star in the near future. The tasting menu was great. We thought the fish dish, mushroom dish, and ice cream with fermented rhubarb were particularly spectacular. Lovely use of local ingredients and really wonderful sense of flavor and textural balance. The wild garlic butter also a lovely treat and pound for pound the 6£ elderflower fermented cordial brought me more joy than anything else. I bought some to go so I could enjoy it again. Small restaurant with extremely tentative staff. We had the meat and vegetarian tasting menus for lunch. Origin of ingredients and preparation of each dish was explained in detail. All Scottish sourced ingredients. Many good Spanish and Portuguese wines complemented the food. Eating at Moss was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Scotland. It's a small place with a tasteful interior and incredible food. We tried both the Tour of Scotland tasting menu and the Tour of Scotland vegetarian tasting menu, and were blown away by both. It's rare to come across chefs who are so innovative, particularly when it comes to vegetarian cuisine. Every dish was special, refined, and came with a story of heritage, experimentation, and making the most of each ingredient. For example, the starch from one dish of barley might be used in the sauce of another. Service was excellent, we had the pleasure of being served both by the knowledgeable waitress and the head chef. Thank you for this wonderful evening! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section
