We just did afternoon tea at Moyle Manor and I’m still thinking about it—like genuinely. The chef imports her veggies young so they’re crisp and not bitter, and you can tell immediately. Nothing tasted tired or overly “tea-sandwichy”—everything tasted fresh, intentional, and honestly a little bit magical. For Father’s Day they did the cutest theme, with specialty desserts that were just stunning. And the slider I don’t even know how else to say it besides: it was unreal. The blue cheese aioli was the perfect amount—creamy, tangy, and not overpowering—so everything stayed balanced. The cucumber sandwich was equally ridiculous. The homemade bread was so good, with just a touch of young radish, and it finished with this really nice, delicious finishing salt that made the whole thing pop. Like everything worked together, nothing was out of place. My husband audibly moaned over the brown sugar scones with Devonshire cream. That’s not an exaggeration. And the little desserts? They’re basically edible art. You almost don’t want to touch them because they look too pretty, but then you taste them and it’s like okay, what happened to my plate? They disappear way too fast. The chef is incredible, and we are blessed this is her retirement spot. Everything is so well sourced, and you can feel how connected she is with top vendors. It’s clear they care about quality on every level. This is not “lunch,” it’s a curated experience. The fact that you’re getting to experience someone with 40+ years of talent makes it even more special. The people here are also just so welcoming—seriously, you want to come back. I could totally gatekeep this, because I don’t want to wait months for a reservation either, but they truly deserve all the visitors. Also, men—don’t be scared to bring your friends. The place is filled with beautifully dressed women, but it’s genuinely a great experience for anyone who loves good food. Run, don’t walk for a reservation.
