Thought we would try this local place as a family for the first time tonight. Based on the other reviews it sounded like a good choice. First, let me say that this is NOT a family establishment and, despite their sign claiming it is a "restaurant", it is nothing close. It's a dive BAR with a menu/kitchen and a few tables located on their deck. In fact, there are NO tables inside besides a couple of 3-chair hightops right next to the bar and a few 2-chair hightops next to the pool tables and dart board. The bar is a very good size though, LOL! What was interesting is that there were only 7-8 people in there at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday evening. The jukebox music was so loud when we walked in that we had 2 choices: walk-out and go somewhere else or walk on through and sit on the patio in the heat (but at least where it was quiet) and try the food which got good reviews. We opted to stay and try the food.

We sat down at a table and realized that it was dirty. When the bartender (who doubles as the waitress) came out after about 10 minutes, I asked her if she would clean the table and with a chuckle says, "Oh yeah, that's where so-and-so spilled her beer, hehe". (Yeah, I know, I just rested my arms in the sticky mess. That's why I'm asking for it to be cleaned) She didn't know what the specials were for the day, luckily we had got a glimpse of some of them as we walked in. Her response, "I work 2 jobs and forget what day it is" and thanked us for reminding her.

FORTUNATELY, the food saved the day!!! The mozzarella sticks were better than average as an appetizer although the waitress did not bring extra plates for us to share them. (I guess she thought her wiping down the table with a dirty towel was sufficient for placing food directly on the STIILL sticky table?) The burger was good according to my son but the loaded fries were excellent. The BLT was okay according to my wife. My daughter loved the Philly Steak Sandwich. It looked delicious. I got the tenderloin sandwich and, as others have raved, it was very large and fantastic especially with the fresh horseradish. 3 of us got onion rings and there was no consistency among the 3 orders. 2 looked burned and thin sliced and the third were thick sliced and cooked perfectly. Again, the food saved the evening.

I would NOT recommend this place as a restaurant. If you want great bar food and bar atmosphere, go there. However, seeing the small crowd on a Friday evening doesn't bode well for its success I would imagine.
