Food: By ex Mandarin hotel chief chef who was retrenched. He is a Sifu (10% skills kept) and the difference can be tasted, eat and taste them yourself. Service: Efficient and relax ordering sometimes by Mr Chicken rice himself or Mrs Chicken rice. Atmosphere: Mr Chicken rice has been at Downtown east for many years, moving from the old Ehub area to the new Ehub level 1. Please support as the price is very reasonable compared to Orchard area. Had a very bizarre experience here. I tried to save the stall some cost by declining the chili, dark soy sauce among other, requesting only an extra packet of ginger instead. Was told a standard packet of ginger costs an additional $2. When I pointed out that I was already saving them the cost of two other sauces and packaging, the management insisted on the $2 charge. Naturally, I took the chili and other sauces I didn't even want just to ensure I got my 'money’s worth' before throwing them away. If you enjoy paying premium prices for basic condiments and witnessing a complete lack of common sense, this is the place for you. I’ll stick to New Sin Kee (Holland Close) next time where the service and ginger are actually 'Famous'. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This is the world’s slowest chicken rice. Auntie at the cashier is more interested in managing and shouting at her kitchen staff than to take my order. Waited at the start of the queue for 20 mins while she pretended I’m invisible. Will never come back here again. There are better chicken rice else where.
