Located on the Basement Level of Hilton London Euston, Mulberry's is the likely start to your day if you are staying at the hotel, after of course being woken up by noisy external noise or faulty air conditioning, as it is where the hotel breakfast is served for around £13.95 per person if you purchase a voucher from the front desk if you're staying at the hotel. Mulberry's firstly isn't in the best locations within the hotel, being inside the Basement it isn't the nicest of trips down there and it just doesn't seem to be the restauraunt type you'd want to spend a meal, so I felt lucky I was there just for breakfast and nothing more. Breakfast selection on the buffet was okay and included fried and scrambled eggs as standard, you can of course order extras but the staff seemed reluctant to do that with no sign or menu or even offer from the servers of extras. Even beverages are self-service which I don't like as I often like being brought a hot tea or coffee in the morning while I get my food from the buffet. After having troubles the night before with gluten-free bread with room service, I was curious to find out if they would actually have any at breakfast - they did however this made me glad in a way room service wasn't available, the bread was hot and soggy, it tasted like it had been rush defrosted and they wouldn't even toast it which made it unappetising on a whole new level, even for gluten-free bread! The selection of speciality teas at breakfast was poor, however, there was a decent selection of fruit juice including orange, apple and lemon juices which were okay. Food quality in all wasn't too poor, the beans were slightly hard and tasted reheated, and my omelette tasted like it was premade and still had stringy cheese despite asking for only a little. The scrambled eggs weren't delicious and creamy, they tasted a touch crusty and although they were edible, it wouldn't be something I'd rush back for seconds of which is usually the case with many Hilton hotels making excellent eggs or should I say eggcellent eggs. Shame. Breakfast at £14 per person is a decent price especially for central London, with many other locations charging more, albeit the slightly early time to end serving at 10 am during the week (it is more reasonable as they stop at 11 on weekends) does let it down again. Location within the hotel as well as poor standards and quality of food and service mean that even a cheaper than average price for London just doesn't cut it and a one-star rating is warranted.
