The most visually appealing place with below average food. The coffee was decent. The food was mind-bogglingly poor. We took the "slice of salmon", which was nothing more than a super thick piece of salmon with toppings that looked great but had no taste whatsoever. Just some pickled vegetables or onion to cut through the fattyness of the salmon would've been so welcome. Sadly, this dish at least did not lie about what it was. The other "dish" we had was the avocado toast. The avocado was a greenish cream substance that mildly reminded of the taste of avocado completely unsalted. No fresh herbs, nothing vibrant just an accompanying white cream, some lost semi sun-dried tomatoes, that did not add or contrast in any way shape or form. I had an extra poached egg, which was translucent for large parts and already broken when arriving to the table. Why not come to the table apologize for a delay and make poached the egg right? I feel like food here is made to look visually appealing but not to have any taste. I simply cannot imagine anyone who actually likes food, would appreciate their cuisine. My advice grab a coffee, (take a selfie or whatever people post on social media), or sit outside as Hopland has a nice atmosphere, but do not eat there unless you like pretty tasteless stuff. I found NOA on TikTok and accidentally the place was very near to my Hotel during my stay in Antwerp. The vibe of the place is immaculate, very cozy. Imani was very kind and helpful while ordering (they finished a product and she quickly notified me). The food and beverage was delicious. A must during your stay in Antwerp!
