Come here for a meal after seeing Sphinx. Jamaican cuisine is to the pleasure of all visitors here. This restaurant may please you with good oxtail.

Nyam is not just best described as great to eat it’s an EXPERIENCE! I’ve been there twice, and this should have been my second posted review because from the ambiance , to the service, the food and the people, it’s a place that is more than deserving of being recognized each time. I’ve been fortunate to m have met both Ama and Jay and they are not just incredible artists (chefs ) but also wonderful people.The location is excellent due to being very close to the trams. The interior is a mix of a high ceilings ,a maze of lights with plants over hanging giving a `modern natural feel.The concept is very indicative of the `food´ where it’s such a nice blend of culture and leap of faith´. I believe there is a weight associated with cooking related a `person´s or nations heritage.You are scrutinized differently and harshly. At Nyam they’ve taken that challenge and also given it amazing twist while respecting and paying homage. The flavor and appearance of the food is an `experience`. You can tell you have artists who love what they do which is obvious in the appearance. The flavors are a network for example whether roast beef or jerk chicken, you get a harmonious balance of the seasonings while bitting into something very succulent. The Oxtail Mac n Cheese can only be described as `An experience you need but didn’t know you needed´. The first visit was the green menu and that was the Jerk Chicken Roast, Roast beef roast and the Oxtail Mac n Cheese. The second was the Jerk Chicken, sweet potato fries, fried dumplings and a special highlight which was the mini patty flatbread with curry goat on top with herbs (experience!). I had wanted to order the curry goat but ended up getting the jerk chicken. So to my surprise getting that mini patty flatbread twist with curry goat an unknowingly guilty pleasure. All I can write is the heavens knew I wanted the curry goat!The drinks are also a nice blend of creativity. I would not just advise going to Nyam, I strongly recommend it. Ama was trying to help me find the word to describe what I felt and she hit it on the head `HOME.` Nyam is `home`. Regardless of meeting both Jay and Ama I would still write this review in the same vein because their creations aren’t just meals they are art pieces, it was an amazing bonus to have met both of them. Nyam is one of these places that you go too and you know because of the person/s behind it, it will succeed. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
