Service was amazing, our server Clover gave us great recommendations and took wonderful care of us. Figure out apps and mains according to your own preferences, but definitely get the carrot cake sundae for dessert! Price per person: $60–70

We’ve been hearing about Nana’s for years as one of the top Durham restaurants and finally got a reservation to try it. The good: excellent service, beautiful decor, nice and quiet atmosphere, good wine. They did a good job accommodating a dairy allergy. The dinner rolls and focaccia were delicious. However, the tuna carpaccio was gross: over powered by onion and pepper and tasted fishy. The pappardelle was too salty with undercooked fava beans. The asparagus were over cooked and over peppered and tasted like butane. The banana pudding was sickeningly sweet, the “nilla wafer” was a dense cookie with none of the soaked in quality of cookie in a banana pudding. The too sweet cold pudding was topped with a warm too sweet toasted whipped topping. The food lion version of this dessert is far and away better. Also, if you want fried okra just get it next door at qshack, the breading here is too heavy. Price per person: $90–100 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
