Flavors were nice, though not good enough to recommend at this price point. Slow service, and not super friendly staff. Waiter tried to convince me that the undercooked pasta ( I went to culinary school and know what al dente looks and tastes like) is how, “We eat it in Rome.” Cut inside the pasta was still significantly white. Definitely undercooked, yet the waiter would have died before admitting this. “I am not judging you madam, you want it cooked more you need to ask.”. My extended family and I were visiting the Colosseum and decided to have dinner at Naumachia Ristorante. When we arrived, we were greeted and told to walk downstairs and turn left if we wanted air conditioning. We went down the steep stairs, passed the kitchen, and noticed it was a little cooler, but not by much. When we reached the dining area, we asked a waitress where a party of seven should sit. She pointed to a table, and we sat down. Then we waited… and waited. It took about 45 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, even though other tables around us were being served. At times, there didn’t seem to be anyone covering our section. When someone finally came over, my dad was handed a heavy stack of menus and had to pass them around the table himself. After another 45-minute wait, we were finally able to order both our food and drinks. The food arrived shortly after the drinks. We ordered two pizzas, but neither one had been sliced. We had to cut them ourselves with a knife and fork, which was frustrating. The pizza was just okay. The ingredients tasted fresh, but it wasn’t put together very well. I’m only 11 years old, and the fact that I’m writing a two-star review should say everything. I don’t usually complain about restaurants, but the extremely slow service and disappointing experience made this one memorable for all the wrong reasons.
