First time trying here and it was good. I got the steak kabobs with roasted sweet potatoes and cabbage delight. The veggies were surprisingly seasoned well and very tasty. The steak kabobs were okay. They were cold and somewhat tough. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection

Really enjoyed my experience at Neomonde Mediterranean. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were great. The chicken skewers were delicious — nicely seasoned with good flavor and not bland at all. The jalapeño hummus was a highlight too, with a nice kick and great taste. The dips and sides were fresh as well. Definitely a nice quick go-to place for Mediterranean food. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our lunch group had already agreed to go to the well renowned BB.Q Chicken, a decision that now feels like a lost chapter of human progress. Unfortunately, one member of the group (who shall not be named) decided that she did not want Korean fried chicken and, in an act of culinary sabotage that historians may one day study, completely ruined everything. Instead, we ended up at Neomonde. Now, I walked in genuinely wanting to love it. A Mediterranean café with a loyal following, fresh looking displays, and a menu full of promise. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a bit, apparently. To begin with, I was somehow led to believe the shawarma options were limited to chicken, only to discover later they also served beef and lamb. That realization hit me at roughly the same moment I realized my order arrived without the garlic paste, the beloved toum sauce I had specifically requested. A shawarma plate without toum is like fries without ketchup: technically edible, but spiritually incomplete. Then came the pita bread. Calling it “stale” almost feels unfair to stale bread. This pita tasted like it had survived several empires and possibly an archaeological dig. If a museum curator walked over and asked for it back, I would have understood. The grape leaves were, somehow, the highlight of the meal, and even those only managed a respectable 3/5 stars. The chicken shawarma, unfortunately, earned a tragic 0/5. Dry, under seasoned, and lacking any real Middle Eastern punch, it felt less like shawarma and more like someone whispered the word “shawarma” into a plain grilled chicken breast from across the room. To be fair, the service itself was not bad. Nobody was rude, and the staff seemed genuinely hardworking. But effort alone does not season chicken. Nothing about the meal stood out as particularly fresh, vibrant, or memorable compared to other Mediterranean spots in the area. I appreciate the chance to try somewhere new, but I do not think I will be returning. Next time, I will probably just make the drive to Mediterranean Deli instead, where the pita is softer, the shawarma has actual flavor, and the toum usually remembers to attend the meal. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
