I have been getting Cashew Chicken here since 2015 and it is always hot and tastes fresh. The egg roll and Rangoon are also always hot. My favorite cashew chicken spot for sure! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I absolutely HATE leaving a review like this because we have been going to Cashew Chef in Springfield for a long time, and it has always been one of our favorite places. But after what we experienced last night, I honestly can’t stay quiet. My wife is 7½ months pregnant and absolutely loves their General Tso’s Chicken. We ordered that, sesame chicken, and cashew chicken—and every single thing was a disappointment. The General Tso’s was so unbelievably hot that my wife couldn’t even eat it. Later that night, she ended up having severe heartburn and we had to go to the ER. At 7½ months pregnant, that is the LAST thing we needed. And then the food itself… There was hair all over the food. My sesame chicken had a foul, stale taste that made me question how fresh it was. The cashew chicken was covered in gravy that was so ridiculously salty that I literally had to drink water after every bite. The crab rangoons? Absolutely horrible. Hair, questionable quality, and nothing like the food we have gotten there in the past. What makes this even more frustrating is that we have been loyal customers. We KNOW what this place is capable of, which is why last night was so shocking. I’m not one to bash a business, but when the food is this bad, there’s hair in it, the quality is questionable, and my pregnant wife ends up needing medical attention afterward, something seriously needs to change. We expected the same quality we’ve gotten from you before. Instead, we left extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted. Do better, Cashew Chef.
