Was very busy when visiting, do thought the place must be popular due to the high quality of food and service. So the two of us took a seat. Within 15 minutes my Cullen skink soup came with a small roll. The soup came in a very small soup bowl which was only 2cm deep. Not lunch material for £5.99. However, while judging my tiny soup I noticed that the person I was with didn't have their food. A server came and said that their was a short delay and it wouldn't be long. In this time we also ordered loaded fries as my soup wasn't going to cut my hunger. 10 minutes later, the other person's food came out! Now, I didn’t touch my soup in this time, as I didn't want to be rude. So, now I'm eating cold soup and they have a nice warm wrap. 5 after this, the loaded fries come out to save me from my hanger pangs. The soup wasn't great, lucky if I got two smalls bits of fish. I live near Cullen where it originated from so it's hard to top the local soup there. The loaded fries where nice as well as the wrap. Overall they let us down with thier timings, people want to eat together, it's not hard.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the The New Inn Hotel in Ellon, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making me feel right at home straight away. One of the absolute highlights was dining at the The Cornkist Restaurant. The food was simply amazing — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every meal felt like a real treat, and the service in the restaurant was just as warm and attentive. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a cosy atmosphere that made it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into making sure guests are comfortable. The location is also fantastic, right in the heart of Ellon, making it perfect for exploring the town and surrounding area. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great hospitality, delicious food, and comfortable accommodation. I can’t wait to come back!
