The salmon kamameshi was terrible. Salmon very salty. Rice overcooked and I was expecting dashi soy sauce mirin but none of these flavors on the kamameshi rice. On the bright side...or why i would go back... tebasaki and the chicken with green onions were really good. Portions are small so double your order. Hopefully when I go back they will serve the food faster. Took them 30 minutes to serve the initial order but the second order took only 10 minutes. The restaurant is located in an alley. It's clean and a traditional izakaya. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Was searching around for a supper spot and chanced upon New Torigin right beside Torigin which was already closed. Had the Shiitake Mushroom Rice Pot (1400yen) and the Assortment of Skewers (1620yen for 6). Skewers were delicious - smoky and glazed in a delicious sweet-savoury sauce. Mushroom rice looked simple but was hearty and full of flavours. Definitely recommend both. Atmosphere was lively and the smell of smoke was not so bad where we were on the second floor. The only con was that we ordered chicken wings as our last order but think the staff forgot about it, wasn't in our bill when we gave up waiting after about 10min and went to pay.
