Not only should St. Mary of the Angels be visited, but also Nightcap. Come to this bar for good champagne. Most visitors point out that the staff is patient here. The fine service is a great advantage of Nightcap. From the guests' viewpoint, the atmosphere is quiet. This place is rated on Google 4.7 by its guests.

All the drinks/food/servers/vibes were great but the Thai-Ami vice literally altered my brain chemistry and I can’t stop thinking about it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $40–50

10/10. Beautifully crafted cocktails and amazing, incredibly knowledgeable bartenders. Love the vibe and ambiance in here. Feels like it could be a bar from the dune universe, if they have bars. Love the little adventure to find this place as well. Recommend: everything tbh, but especially the pisco drink and squab dip. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $40–50

Nightcap is easily my new favorite bar in Chicago. The vibe is elegant and moody, the drinks are so creative and delicious (I will be back for the frozen curry-tomato Thai-ami Vice ASAP) and I appreciate the same dedication to creativity on the NA menu. There's also a helpful flavor map which is a great guide to finding something you'll like, even if you don't recognize any of the ingredients. And the bar bites are excellent—pro-tip, go on Wednesdays for the hot dog. But mostly, the staff is so friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. I've sat at the bar and talked to Lisa on multiple occasions, and she's always happy to take me through the thought that goes into each drink, why they chose this ingredient vs. that, what clarifying a cocktail through cottage cheese actually means, how they name their drinks, etc. And they can be creative on the fly—a friend asked for "A Vesper but Different" and the resulting martini was delightful, with a smart explanation of why it worked. The only real problem is always wanting to try something new while simultaneously wanting to drink my favorites again. I already have reservations on the books for my next visit.
