We decided to try Nikala because we were in the mood for something different, and it did not disappoint. The khachapuri was great. We had previously tried the classic egg-and-cheese version at another restaurant, so this time we ordered the mushroom khachapuri, which was just as delicious. For an appetizer, we chose the baked chicken with walnut sauce. Just a heads-up—this is served cold. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. I especially enjoyed pairing the walnut sauce with the khachapuri, although my husband wasn't quite as impressed with the walnut sauce. I also really liked the grilled beef. The restaurant recommended their tomato sauce as an accompaniment, which worked well for me, though my husband would have paired it with something else. We'll definitely be back to try the stews and sausage entrées. It's always fun to find something different from our usual dining choices! We really enjoyed our dinner at Nikala. New to the Georgian dining experience, we thought everything was delicious, from the wine & beer to the Adjaruli with Cheese that we started with, followed by Chanakhi, and the Chicken Mtsvadi with veggies and Satsebeli sauce. Thanks, George! We followed up with a visit to Qvevri - the market and gift shop next door for a couple bottles of wine, chocolates, and the cutest Khinkali salt & pepper set.
