Very friendly and authentic atmosphere. Soba is really good and made freshly and locally. We came not long before closing by they served us nice and quick. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

First time in a Japanese restaurant with menus for locals and foreigner as in photo. As one can see, the Japnese menu has 2 prices, a regular price and a discount "special price", and the English menu has only the regular price which is 10-13% more expensive than the special price in the Japanese menu. And I was given the English menu. There 2 ways to look at it. 1. Higher price for the nuisance of serving people with language barrier (and a few rude, uncultured foreigners); 2. Since foreigners pay 10% less than Japnese for things they buy while visiting Japan, it's only fair that they pay 10% more for food. I can see the sense both ways. Only the locals were also given small appetizers/pickles while I was not, which makes me a little envious. Some Google reviewers mentioned one can become a member easily to get the benefits of small side dishes. But no one in the restaurant told me about it (maybe membership is only for locals?) and I didn't ask due to the language barrier. :) Now, the food. I had Tenjin soba which is very good. Soba are thin and tasty in a thick, flavorful soup. Portion is a little small for me. However, there is the option to eat the soba but save the soup, in order to have it cooked with rice as porridge, for 200 yen extra. But I finished the soup with soba, so not an option there. All in all a good meal, but.. Follow up: Thank you for your prompt response. I was correct that one needs to know how to access your newsletter to get "member price". I don't suppose there is an English version? In any case I don't think you are obliged to have one anyway. There were 2 pieces of shrimp/chicken. They are delicious even though I don't know what they are. I trust that whatever you serve me is always high-class. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

口コミありがとうございます。誤解があるようですが英語メニューも日本語のメニューも値段は同じです。メルマガ会員になると値段は安くなりますが… あとメニューによってつくものが変わります。基本、日本人と外国人で提供するものは変わりません。 YH HS様の天神そばの写真にも海老真丈がついているように見受けられますが、それが小鉢ではないのでしょうか？！

Although it is rare, Nishida bamboo steamers are delicious even when eaten as is without dipping them in soup. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Wait time: 10-30 min
