Amazing food in such a beautiful space. The staff are lovely and the while the vegetarian menu is a little bit short, everything on it is delicious. The miso aubergine in particular was a highlight. Absolutely adored my visit to Nishiki, it was easily one of the nicest dining experiences I have had in Edinburgh. The minimalist decor and warm lighting in the restaurant was just stunning. I also very much appreciated the design and use of Helvetica on the menus. The food was just as impressive as the setting. Every dish felt carefully crafted, but the highlights for me were definitely the chicken skin skewers and the miso aubergine. Service was excellent throughout the evening, especially from my server Yu, who was lovely and gave my table excellent recommendations for what to order and who taught us the word ‘Japandi’ - the name for this specific style of interior design.
