We ate jyou hire (premium tenderloin) for 1900 each. The soup was rich, yet did not feel oily in your mouth. I’m not a soup person, but this was absolutely amazing. The pork was cooked beautiful pink, thick and juicy with crisp delicious coat. The cabbage and rice were simple and well executed. Eating all three together was a pleasure in my mouth. Best of all, the service was excellent and full of locals enjoying their food in a TINY space, yet perfect. We finished everything in about 20 mins. And it was so cheap. Hugely recommend. Tried Nishimura Tonkatsu in Ginza and overall it was a solid meal. We ordered one premium loin set and one regular loin set — both were really tasty and definitely better than most tonkatsu I’ve had in Singapore. While it’s not the best I’ve had in Japan, it’s still very satisfying and well-executed. The place seems popular with locals (lots of salarymen dining here), and even though there was a queue, it moved quickly — we waited about 15 minutes. I also added the oyster, which was fresh and delicious. Would I come back just for this? Probably not. But if I’m in the area and craving tonkatsu, I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Feels like one of those “glad I tried it” spots. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
