INCREDIBLE MEAL Only regret was booking this for lunch rather than dinner. Every dish was phenomenal and unique (each dish was based off a region in Japan). Chefs and server all made extra effort to communicate with us. Great pricing too. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥8,000–9,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It would all have been perfect, had they not served green turtle among the dishes. Regardless of the cultural background and of artificial breeding, a too chef with international knowledge should know better than to put an endangered species on the menu. It promotes anti-ethical values: tradition is not an excuse for horror. I have thought a lot about this review of being unbiased - etc. I enjoyed almost every dish and sat until the end, but must admit that looking back, it finding out after a few bites that I was eating turtle is traumatizing. Will never forget this disappointment. Should’ve paid more attention when he was explaining, but regardless of my personal experience: the dish should NOT be on the menu. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We understand that this is a deeply important ethical issue for you, and we genuinely respect your perspective. While our own views are shaped by a different cultural and environmental context—one in which conservation, population management, and long-standing food traditions often coexist—we fully recognize that these values are not universally shared and may raise strong ethical concerns from an international perspective. We also acknowledge that this context does not make your feelings any less valid. In certain regions of Japan, green sea turtle has been part of a long-standing culinary tradition, and we believe it is meaningful to present and communicate the cultural background and significance of such traditions through cuisine. Our restaurant places great importance on preserving and sharing traditional Japanese food culture, and we regard these traditions as culturally significant. At the same time, your feedback has reminded us—very meaningfully—of the importance of how these dishes are presented. While we only use products that are sourced and distributed within legally regulated frameworks, including strict controls on harvesting numbers and seasons, we deeply regret that we did not communicate this context clearly enough, nor did we provide you with an adequate opportunity to make an informed choice. Your message has given us a great deal to reflect on. Moving forward, we will carefully reconsider how we present and serve such dishes, including offering clearer explanations and menu options that allow our guests to choose according to their comfort. Thank you again for sharing your perspective with us.
