SHOKUDO NOGI is such a treat! It's a rustic cafe with huge windows staring out into the countryside. We came in Autumn so the red fall colors were beautiful in the distance. It's open from 11:00 AM to 17:00 PM but the menus are slightly different depending on the time. We went in for lunch. There is only one lunch plate which comes with a drink of your choice. We had the strawberry milk, which was a little too sweet with too much ice and too little milk, and the rose syrup hot drink which was unique! It was aromatic and tasted good! How often do you try rose syrup? O recommend trying this. The coffees and teas are good, too, last time I came. The lunch plate was exquisite. So many fresh vegetables and each subtly flavored differently. We really liked the wood ear mushroom, chayote, chickpeas, mashed potatoes and omelette. The two main proteins were pork and young yellowtail. The young yellowtail, or GANDO, was really good! To top is off, we ordered the 3-dessert plate (chocolate banana cake, roll cake and mochi balls) and the caramel apple pound cake. This place is a good place to treat yourself to some good food and a relaxing atmosphere with a good view. Enjoy! (Look me up at Yummy Toyama Eats on YouTube for more on Toyama restaurants!)
