The Roman Jewish community has its own distinctive cuisine – cucina Ebraica Romana – and a meal at Nonna Betta is a fabulous introduction to it. I dined here with 8 friends and everything was good – somethings were outstanding! The pastas were all very interesting for the ingenious Jewish takes on Rome's traditionally pork-rich pastas using house-dried beef as an alternative - and I loved the Roman gnocchi. The roast suckling lamb (Abbacchio ar Forno) was excellent - one of the best things I've eaten all year. Puntarella with anchovy dressing was good and the ricotta and viscioli tart is my benchmark now for this Roman classic. Good wines, friendly service and a wonderful evening! I'll be back.
