Michelin Guide rating

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.

The restaurant has relocated from Kita-ku to Kamigyo-ku. Ramen’ distils the chef’s experience in Kyoto, pairing clear soup made with seafood dashi and pure soy sauce with house-made Kyoto wheat noodles. Thinly sliced roasted pork fillet is from Kyoto-raised swine. Blue bowls of specially ordered Kiyomizu ware set off each meal to its advantage. More info

The atmosphere is one of a kind here, you watch the chef make everyone's appetizers and mains in front of you, like a friend cooking for you in their home. The duck ramen was next level, there was something about the smoked duck flavour that lands amazingly along with the chewiness of the noodles. Top notch food indeed. We also got the pudding dessert and now I love puddings in Japan! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Ramen, Wasanbon Pudding

A very nice place with a beautiful atmosphere, great service, and excellent food. All the dishes were delicious, but I especially recommend the pudding. It was a great experience from the moment you arrived. We went as soon as it opened and didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get in with the first group. I recommend making a reservation to guarantee a table. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
