I’m a regular at Norms, and honestly, it’s basically my 7-year-old daughter’s favorite place to go. Every Sunday morning, we visit the Norms in Covina, which isn’t too far from us. We’ve always received great service, and the food is consistently on point. We’ve never really had a complaint. This past Sunday, however, we decided to meet up with family from the Inland Empire, so we planned to meet at a different Norms location and have a nice family breakfast together. When we first arrived, everything seemed fine. Everyone was helpful, and we were greeted and seated without any issues. Unfortunately, once we sat down at our table, the experience completely changed. Our waiter, Rodolfo (I’m assuming that’s his name based on the receipt), provided some of the most disappointing service I’ve experienced at a Norms. My niece felt pressured and intimidated while trying to place her order. Another one of my nieces started crying after her drink was not brought to her, and the waiter showed very little concern. Our drinks were placed off to the side, and we were basically told to pass them around ourselves to whoever ordered what. The same thing happened with our food — it was placed in one location for us to distribute among ourselves. We also received the wrong drinks, and they were never corrected. On top of everything, our food took close to an hour to arrive. What really bothered me was hearing my 7-year-old daughter tell me, “This is a bad Norms. We shouldn’t come here anymore.” As someone who regularly takes her to Norms, that honestly says a lot about how disappointing this experience was. I’m genuinely surprised that an employee representing the company would communicate with and treat customers this way. As a business owner, I would be embarrassed to have an employee providing this kind of customer service because employees are a direct reflection of the company. This was my first time visiting this particular Norms, and unfortunately, I don’t see myself coming back. The experience really showed me the difference between a location that genuinely cares about its customers and one where the service seems to be lacking. I’ve had nothing but good experiences at the Covina location, so I know Norms is capable of providing much better service. I just hope management takes this review seriously and addresses what happened, because families deserve to feel welcomed and taken care of when they come in for a meal. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $20–30

If I can give this place 0 stars I would. Very disappointing experience at Norms Restaurant. The service was extremely poor, and unfortunately our waiter, Rodolfo, was very rude and unprofessional. His attitude made the experience uncomfortable and left a bad impression on what should have been an enjoyable meal. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the customer service experience. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $20–30
