Have previously stayed at the hotel and eaten here when it was Blake's so we were staying nearby and decided to give it a try. Our overall experience was extremely disappointing. We waited along time for our meals and when they came they were both served on cold plates which is unacceptable for a restaurant. Had we not being waiting so long we would have sent it back. My wife's tagliatelle was tasteless. My fish and chips were very oily. The one waitress serving 5 diners never express any interest in our meal and was often missing. We ordered ice cream for dessert but after waiting 20 minutes we cancelled it and got the bill. The bill already had a deduction for late delivery. We asked for the service charge to be removed. Again no interest was shown in our dissatisfaction. Would not visit again.

Two of our desserts not as described. Bottle of wine was dumped on the table and left for us to pour ourselves. Waitress showed little interest in serving. On settling the bill it was obvious the card machine was faulty but it was only after three declines that the server went and found another machine which worked with the first card originally presented, meaning it took ages to settle the bill at no fault of our own, and had to rush to catch our train
