Nunchaku, located on Showamachi in Sendai, is a Japanese restaurant offering a cozy atmosphere for dinner. Patrons frequently mention that it's ideal for solo dining and is popular for enjoying a meal in a relaxed setting. The establishment is cash-only and accepts reservations, providing traditional table service with options such as alcohol, beer, quick bites, small plates, and food at the bar. Notably, it does not offer delivery services, and several accessibility features like a wheelchair-accessible entrance are missing.
The venue operates from Monday to Saturday, from 5 PM to midnight. According to past visitors, the inviting interior ambiance is matched by delicious cuisine, highlighted by signature dishes like curry beef skewers. However, some reviews mention limited menu options and cramped restroom access. Customer service appears attentive, with pleasant interactions noted between staff and guests. Despite its charms, one reviewer expressed concerns over controversial image choices at the entrance, which may deter some potential visitors.
It’s worth noting that the most recent feedback dates back three years, suggesting that updated experiences and owner communication are limited. Anyone interested in trying Nunchaku for an evening meal is encouraged to consider all aspects of this unique dining spot amidst Sendai's bustling food scene.
