O Requinte is pretty near Synagogue of Tomar. The positive aspect of this restaurant is that the staff is terrific. Fast service is something clients appreciate here. A lot of guests say that the dishes are offered for reasonable prices. There is spectacular ambiance at O Requinte. But many visitors who use Google didn't give this place a high rating.

While on a Best of Portugal Tour, my wife and I lodged for two nights in Tomar and wanted a simple “Fonda” or “lonchería” experience like we would get in Mexico City or a small deli or diner in Chicago. We stumbled upon this place while looking for a sandwich. Inês greeted us with a kind smile and sense of hospitality. When my wife tried to describe what she wanted, Inês said, “I can make you a toast” she gave us a few options and my wife chose tuna. When the bill came, we could not believe it. So much food for so little. Inês invited us to come back the next day. To be honest with you, we are not even big fans of tuna. But boy, this tuna toast was delicious. Later that day we also made reservations to have dinner the next day at a restaurant that was Michelin reviewed and which our tour guide recommended - that was the plan. The next day we went to Fatima and ordered a Tuna Toast at a restaurant but it just didn’t match what Inês had made for us. Our taste buds still craved this tuna toast, so we cancelled the tour group reservation and instead went back to visit Inês. We still ordered a tuna toast but also ordered the Menu Turístico: soup of the day (mushroom), bitoque de porco, bottle water, and dessert. Accompanied by a sangria and a meia de leite, we were set. The food was delicious but what we remember most over everything else, is Inês. She made us feel like we mattered. She was also a one woman show. I wish more tourists, travelers, would visit these locals hangout place. Thank you Inês. Price per person: €5–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They took over the premises next door this year and expanded their service. So, recent reviews are much more representative of their quality. Outside, they are a street cafe, but inside, they are a good restaurant. Price per person: €10–15 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
