Sintra can be busy for sure, but if you are prepared to venture off the beaten track you can find some typical Portuguese fare- excellent fish, meats and traditional deserts at reasonable prices. O Tavares is one of those places. Family run, homemade delicious dishes and a local clientele, that feels more authentic Portugal. Worth the short detour.
