Olive Hill feels like a slightly more upscale version of Saizeriya. Ordering is very easy thanks to the touchscreen system. The physical menu is mostly in Japanese, but once you enter the item number on the tablet it switches to multiple languages including English. There is also a drink bar similar to Denny’s, and they actually use the same machines. This branch is very large and spacious with lots of windows, so the interior feels bright and comfortable. There’s music playing constantly in the background, and the restaurant is decorated with many Italy-themed paintings and pictures, both inside and outside. Parking is another big advantage. There’s a very large parking lot and it’s free. One funny feature is that food is delivered by a robot waiter. When it arrives it plays an orchestral version of the classic Italian Cornetto theme song. It’s surprisingly cute. The pizzas are definitely a step up from Saizeriya. The bases are nicer and the ingredients taste better. A regular Margherita pizza is only about ¥650, and you can even order a mini version for about ¥430. Vegetarian options include mozzarella fritters, garlic bread, bruschetta, and salads like the carrot rapé & nuts salad or the Caesar salad. Salads come in regular or large sizes and are around ¥495–¥750. For pasta they have mozzarella tomato, arrabbiata, and an Italian olive vegetable pasta, though these contain cheese. For vegans the options are quite limited. Aside from plain bruschetta and possibly salads without dressing, there aren’t really any vegan main dishes. Overall it’s a bright, spacious restaurant with reasonable prices. It’s probably a bit too noisy for studying, but it’s a very nice place for families, casual meals, or even a relaxed date.
