Service was kind. At first we felt a bit rushed to order but once we got our meal, we were able to take our time. I recently tried a hand roll spot in the city and became obsessed, thought this would be on a similar scale considering the reviews. I was a bit disappointed. It’s a great spot- just not comparable to what you can get in the city in my opinion. I really enjoyed the gyoza, hand-rolls were good, truffle toro was my favorite. The corned beef scallion was tough and inedible. The yuzu cheesecake was incredible, don’t skip on it! I appreciated the ambiance inside.

I love Ocean Code Handroll Bar. They are an amazing, fresh concept & I am hopeful more people learn they exist! To start, a hand roll is not your typical sushi roll. It is a cone instead of a roll. One of my absolute favorite options here is filled with Wagyu steak, Shiso, and roe. It is so savory and decadent. Another common order for me includes their salmon or tuna sushi or sashimi. Their fish is SO FRESH. They offer other appetizers like Gyoza and edamame & their specials change fairly frequently. Sometimes they offer dessert. The staff is very friendly, patient, and informative. They do offer some great beverages as well such as their strawberry or lychee lemonade. notable they recently received their liquor license and have some very creative drink options that I am patiently waiting to try! Parking lot is huge and free. I would absolutely recommend this place to somebody who's looking for a quiet and authentic experience.
