one of our more memorable meals in seattle. know what youre walking into: its a tiny, its crowded, you face a brick wall, the menus on a chalkboard, and the food is adventurous. if you want a predictable, buttoned-up night, this isnt your place. if you want something with real personality, go in curious and order the thing youd normally skip. we loved every bite. As someone who enjoys food and has eaten at restaurants across many countries and price points, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had. The seem to be built on an air of self-importance, but the food doesn’t live up to it. Most dishes ranged from average to underwhelming. The worst part was the atmosphere. Staff came across as dismissive, as if customers should feel privileged to be there. We felt like we were being hurried through the meal from start to finish. There are countless restaurants in Seattle offering better food and warmer experience. The moment we stepped outside, my boyfriend said “I feel like I just got mugged” and honestly that sums it up better than anything else. Lots of hype, little substance. Won’t be back. Amazed by the team at Off Alley bringing magic out of a tiny hot kitchen line. Braised rabbit in a verjus sauce with herbs, grapes, and radish. Glorious pork toast. Incredible! It's a very small place with a counter seating inside, but that is a way more fun way to experience this special place than sitting outside on the patio. On Mondays, Seattle legend chef Jason Stratton, helps out and adds a few of his famous dishes to the menu so that is the night to go for the full meal deal. Wine from unique producers make excellent pairings along with the perfect cocktails. Even a cheese course. A perfect local restaurant.
