Meals at Ogiya
Ogiya is a restaurant situated on Ogimachi Street in Sado, offering a unique combination of International, Japanese, and Seafood cuisines. Operating from Thursday to Sunday between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, it provides a great spot for a midday meal. Notably, some reviews mention intriguing dishes like burikatsu with sweet and salty sauce, and Kani rice that cooks right at your table for around 20 minutes, delivering a fresh and flavorful experience.

Service-wise, Ogiya is accommodating, boasting wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance, making it an inclusive choice for diners. The restaurant also features a free parking lot and accepts Rakuten Pay, ensuring convenience in payments. While planning a visit, it’s worth noting that the dining space may cater mainly to groups, as mentioned by previous visitors.

The establishment had a souvenir shop, though it seems currently inactive, possibly due to seasonal factors or holiday closures. It remains uncertain if conditions vary during weekends or with changes in season, due to sparse current information from management. Overall, Ogiya presents itself as a vessel of delightful culinary experiences, albeit with some operational constraints potential visitors should consider.

The sauce for burikatsu was sweet and salty which we loved. The fish slices were thick and the portion was pretty big. Their Kani rice cooks in front of you for around 20mins and you start eating when the fire goes out. The flavour was great too. Service was also immaculate!

We had lunch here on our tour. Since it was New Year's Day, the souvenir shop was closed.
