Restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. Service was great and the food was even better. Unplanned visit with our granddaughter (5) was unexpectedly fantastic! We were headed to McDonald’s on Labor Day and saw Old 50 Cafe was open. I told our granddaughter, who likes to play on playgrounds at McDonald’s and she was disappointed. She asked if they were kid-friendly. When we saw the kids menu she said, “This place is great for kids!” She had several good options and chose spaghetti. We had very delicious homemade foods and many choices too. It was a-win-win-win experience. Parking: Parking on street in front, across and around corner. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu had many yummy choices. Very poor service with unpleasant waitress. Food was not seasoned, steak sandwich was all grissel and fat so sent back after having to spit out three bites. Advised the manager, who states he was also the cook, argued he has never had complaints and since did take a couple bites he would not adjust price but according to him I ate over half the sandwich. Very disappointed with meal and lack of customer friendly service. When speaking to him he kept arguing instead of letting me speak, so advising here of my experience. Would never recommend. Wanting to only give 1/2 star but not an option.
