So I'm on the road with grand boys on our road trip to Colorado ( like 711 miles to drive today)and it's time to feed their bellies..... so they requested Mexican food. So off the road/freeway in Plainsville down one of their main streets I go, when I see the sign Old Mexico Restaurant.... I was hesitant at first but the boys say come on Granny it's usually better on the inside as the outside doesn't have much character screaming come in we have awesome food... as their are no windows are the side we parked .... just a single glass door with a sign Open...so of course we wander inside as we enter we are greeted by friendly staff to seat us. The ambiance is Flashy red white and blue American flags as they still have their 4th of July decor up though displayed well that I would keep it up the month of July .... I am a bit patriotic so I so enjoy seeing how establishments display our USA colors. The booth seating was a bit worn and nostalgic with tables and chairs and booths that are dated with table clothes of red with another white draped over the top of the red that looked rather fresh and classic. Ohh.... a note...their windows are on the other side of the building which bring in so much natural light into the restaurant .... for me a plus. We were served fresh corn chips with their homemade salsa. The chips for me needed salt but good and the salsa was just right for spicy salsa.... very authentic. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a beef taco prices at $4.25. No beans or rice that was extra for $2 and I didn't need additional weight on my plate as I was not getting steps in ... lol.  Oh my gosh my meal was perfect!!  Boys had similar meal they said was just right :) Simple and fresh traditional authentic Mexican Meals....prices are very reasonable and the wait service is exceptional. Bravo!
